What to expect?
Hello everyone!
My name is David G. Bobadilla and I am a new student who just transferred here from South Western Community College. I'm currently majoring in Social Science teaching because I wish to one day become a teacher hopefully soon but only time will tell. For now I am just happy to finally be a San Diego State where I hope to get my Bachelors.
To start I would like to say that I was born and raised in San Diego. I am fluent in both English and Spanish but I would sometimes mumble my words and when that happens if I don't catch my mistake please correct for I'm trying correct this issue. As far my name goes I mostly respond to David or in some cases Boba which a short version of my last name. In case you where wondering the "G" is middle name which stands for Gustavo a name which was given to me by my mother to differentiate from the other eighth David Bobadilla's one of them being an Americas Most Wanted criminal. Whoa!! Fun facts! Anyways I live a normal life I go to school, I have a happy family who takes care of one another, and I go to work at a after school YMCA program. At age of 23 years old I still have much to learn about the world. For example my first day at San Diego state.
I expected the worst to happen. That I won't fine parking in time. I wouldn't be able to fine the correct class room on the first day. Or that the teachers at San Diego State are twice as strict then that of community college. I started my new school year with nothing but pens, paper and a backpack ready for what was to come.
In reality, my first day was great. I arrived at school ready to start looking for parking spaces only to find a parking space right at the entrance. And because of that I had enough time to find my first classroom with no problem. I only have one class on mondays and that's in room SSW 2500. I was relieved to see that the professor was not at all what imagine but the complete opposite. Even at work at the YMCA all the kids were well behaved and polite it was amazing. Which is weird for me such luck doesn't happen very often for me.
For the most I am a introvert meaning I am not a very outgoing. If I could name a characteristic that most people who know me say about me is that I am a serious person. Not saying that mean or anything but that I always stay focus on an objective whether that be about school, work, or family. I am upset about this? The answer is no. I fine it to be a good thing though I due try to be more lax however I will always revert back to my serious demeanor.
At my work that is not the always the case. Because I work with kids at an after school program for the YMCA I have to be as jolly, happy, and fun as I can be to better the experience the kids have of wanting to be at the YMCA. Although they can be a hand full sometimes that is nothing MR. David can't handle. This is just training for when I can actually go and teach. So if in class I need to change my demeanor and present myself in such a manner you'll be surprise of the difference one person can make in a moments notice. It's fun. When ask friends if they think I just play around all the time at work and they answer with a yes. I'm like of course how else am I suppose to do a good job at work.
All in all, I am just a good guy. I don't drink, smoke, or do any other activities that would be expected of a person of my age. Besides going out with best friends to go watch a movie or go work out (3 miles minimum run).
Hope to know most of you during this semester and also help me make it a wonderful start of a university life.
Sincerely,
David G. Bobadilla
